Economical Footprint cont'd
A day of conserving really changed the way I effect the planet. The first time I took the test my footprint showed that I need 4.8 earths to produce the energy I use. The second time I reduced it down to 3.7. It may not seem like much but if everyone did what I did, the earth would be around much longer.

Economical Footprint
After taking my quiz to determine my footprint I realized that it would take 4.8 earths to accomidate everyone if they all lived like me. I didn't realize the damage i was doing to my planet. So in the next 24 hours I will eat less processed foods and more salads and fruits, I will do less pointless driving and try to cut back on the amout of trash I produce.

NO technology cont'd
I went a whole day and a little over without technology and I almost went crazy. At work I was so bored cause I couldn't text while I was there I didn't use my lab top all day or night and that was even harder because I had homework to do but skipped it. I didn't watch tv which was not that hard I rarely do anyways. I am so glad I don't have to live without technology everyday, my world would fall apart.

Challenges
In the up coming years myself and my friends and family are going to have to face many challenges. One challenge that sticks out and effects me and my family is the economy. My parents have worked hard their whole lives to provide for me and my three siblings and have done very well in doing so, but now cause of the inflation of gas prices and the prices of everything going up my parents are struggling. Now that I am older I hold a steady job of about a year valet parking for resturants. My bills get paid by the amount of tips I get each night I work. When I first started this job I was doing really goood. I could pay my bills and still have some left for entertainment, but because of the economy the price of going out to eat has sky rocketed. No body can affored it like they use too. So now I am working twice as hard to make the same as I did a year ago. I have tried getting another job on many different occations but all the spots are filled because people are needing two or three jobs to keep up with their expences. So one challenge I have faced and plan on facing is our struggling economy and the rise of prices.

Thesis
Thesis #1: Grand Theft Auto goes above and beyond using bad ethics in their game, the game uses many of the ethics society does not allow and puts them all in one game. From drugs to sex to killing for money this game has it all.
Thesis #2: Although Grand Theft Auto is rated M the games still wind up in the hands of minors. Many are afraid that this is leading to the cause of violence in the streets among young adults.
Thesis #3: There has always been violence on the streets but now and days there seems to be more and more, from the shootings at Columbine to Virginia Tech. Many say that video games are to blame for these actions, but does a video game really have that effect on young kids or are video games the perfect canidate to place the blame on?

The first article I chose was from the website Gamasutra. This articles main focus is on is the ethics of the video game Grand Theft Auto Vice City. It talks about what game designers have to focus on and go through to make their video games appropriate and to be approved by the law. They argue that their games are protected under the first amendment and that they are no worse than any R rated movie or rap-music CD. The artical also talks about the games ratings, and how even though the game is rated M for mature it is still being accessed by minors. The designers argue that the soul purpose for the game is for players to have fun, it is not intended for them to go out and live the life of the game.
The second article came from Epinions.com. This article is a review of the game GTAVC and mostly just tells the readers about the game and what to exspect. The writter calls it the most unethnical in exsistance. He then goes into details of gameplay and makes comments on it, they are his personal opnions of the game. He talks about the purpose of the game, the weapons and cars a player can choose and the houses one can buy. Basically the whole purpose of the review is to summarize the game detail by detail in his own words.

outline
The two games I choose to write about are Darfur is Dying and Planet Green. These two games have similar and different ways of showing a problem and giving a solution. Darfur is Dying is a game about the people of Darfur, Sudan who live their lives day by day avoiding being captured and killed. Planet Green is about saving the planet one less trip in your car at a time. Both Darfur is Dying and Planet Green portray two major problems in society, but i believe that Planet Earth is more efficient at doing so and awaring the users.
The game Darfur is Dying starts off where you choose a character from a family. The ages and sex vary, you can choose to be a boy or a girl ages 10-14. After you choose one you then have to run to a well to get water for ur camp. sounds easy right? Well as you are running for the water you have to hide from the militia that is out to get you. There are rocks and small scrubs to hide behind as the truck holding the capturers passes you by. If you get caughta screen pops up and tells you what happens to you once they have you. For example, if I choose to be a younger girl chances are I am rapped and tortured by the men in the militia. If I were to have choosen a boy they would most likely kill me. If and when you reach the well and retrieve the water you then must run it all the way back wihout getting caugh, except this time since you are holding water you run much slower. Back at camp little boxes pop up around the camp to tell you things that are going on that you may experience if you wee really living there. At the bottem of the game screen there is a place to click if you would like to help with the real situation in Darfur. The game is very good with educating the users and providing a way to help.
Planet Green is a game made to make people aware of global warming and ways to help reverse it. The game allows the user to pick a person they want to be, after doing that then you can choose a ride of your choice, from walking to a SUV. Then you are to go around the town finding ways to save energy and help the planet. In one senarrio you are inside a house and there are 12 things that are wasting energy. You have to click on all of them within a time limit. When you do click on it a screen pops up and tells you facts about the appliance you just fixed and how it was harming the planet. This game is very informative and educates people in a fun useful way. throughout the game you are learning more and more ways to save the planet and being informed of the dangers of global warming. Many people do not know what to do to help but this game provides many ways from big to small in doing so.
As you can see both Darfur is Dying and Planet Green are very much alike and in some ways different. They both allow you to choose a player similar to yourself so it kinda puts you in the game. also Darfur is Dying does the same as Planet Green in informing the players by using pop ups with facts about the certain objects it is talking about. For example when there is a broken seal over the window in a house on the boxes tell you facts about how much air is wasted and how much energy is uses to keep the house cool, etc. The same with Darfur, when something happens in the camp a box pops up and gives real life details about what is going on and how to fix it. The both games involve you emotionally and make you think about how you can really help out. Darfur gives you the oppertunity to help the real cause by donating and making others aware, Planet Green gets you invoved also by making you think and educating you in ways of saving the earth at home and in normal life situations. Although they have many similarities they are also different. Darfur is a game about things that do not nescissarly involve everyone around the world only the people of Sudan. Plant Green includes everyone because it is a major issue that could determine future generations and the health of our planet. Also Planet Green educates you a little better than Darfur because it has more situations you have to go through and you learn by doing. Darfur is not as informative as Planet Green in the since of what the main problem is. Both games are perfect examples of serious and adverse games, they present a problem and way of helping. After you play these games you are sure to turn of an extra light or donate to a good cause.
